Potential bidders must register their full name and postal address before the beginning of any sale with Churchill Auctions (Written proof of such details may be requested). In making any bid or commission bid a purchaser acknowledges that their attention has been drawn to these conditions of sale and that they agree to be bound by them.
The advance of bidding shall be regulated by the Auctioneers who reserve the right to refuse any bid. The highest bidder at the fall of the gavel shall be the purchaser.
Due to the large number of bids that we receive, we must ask that all commission bids are received by 10am on the day of the auction. Please note that we cannot guarantee to execute any bids received after this time.
Due to the large number of requests for telephone bids that we receive, we regret that we are unable to accept telephone bids unless, you are prepared to open the bidding at £100 should the auctioneer deems it appropriate to do so.
CLEARANCE AND PAYMENT
All lots sold will be subject to premium on the hammer price of 16.5% (Minimum of £1 per lot) + VAT payable on the premium - unless otherwise stated by an asterisk). For example:
Hammer price = £100
Premium at 16.5% = £16.50
VAT on premium = £3.30
Total cost = £119.80
The property in any lot shall not pass to the purchaser until payment is received by the Auctioneers of the full hammer price and the purchaser’s premium and VAT.
Items purchased using the online bidding platforms may attract a further 3% (plus VAT when applicable) premium on the hammer price.
Payments are accepted in Cash, Cheque, Bank Transfer or by Credit or Debit Card.
Cash and Bank Transfer payments are limited to a maximum of £5000 due to UK money laundering laws. Cheque payment is accepted but no goods can be removed until the successful clearance of the cheque within the Auctioneers accounts. There is no charge for paying any amount by Debit Card but credit cards may be refused to settle large accounts.
We ask that all goods are removed by 4pm on the Friday following the sale.
All items not paid for within 14 calendar days of the sale will automatically have a 5% (+VAT) late payment fee added to their bill. Items still not paid for after a further 14 calendar days will be re-entered into the sale and the perpetrator will be banned from bidding with us again and their account marked with a ban which may affect their bidding with all other auction houses on the Easylive platform.
Item which have been paid for but have not been collected or with agreed arrangements to collect within 14 calendar days will attract an addition storage fee of £1 (+VAT) per day. Once the total price paid has been reached the item will be offered in the next sale and no refund or proceeds from the sale given.
All electrical items are sold as scrap and are in no way guaranteed to be in working order. The plug will be removed in any circumstance the item has not been PAT tested
We are able to wrap and post smaller items worldwide - (non-breakable and under 2kg when packed -this is non-negotiable and there will be no exceptions) - please contact us with the lot number you are interested in for a quote.
Larger items can be delivered to the local area, please ask for a quote.
